Fitz thought unemployment was his biggest problem—until he met an enigmatic rogue, equal parts wisdom and mischief, and a mysterious red-haired woman with a job shrouded in secrecy. Before he can make sense of it all, he’s whisked from the eclectic streets of San Francisco to a lush alien world where fur-covered humans struggle to survive alongside carnivorous dinosaurs.
Welcome to Planet Oz, a.k.a., Nekomata, a steamy tropical planet where the stone-age fur-bearing humans exist alongside dinosaurs and the laws of physics are not quite right.  Fitz must navigate not only his own survival in a weirdly libidinous stone-age society but the intricacies of an interplanetary threat that spans millennia.
Fitz endures grueling training under Teena, a captivating red-haired goddess shrouded in mystery, and Petchy, her sharp-witted yet elusive companion. He learns that the survival of the human race hinges on their facing, and defeating, the galaxy’s deadliest foe, a runaway planetary AI system that is destroying humanity galaxy-wide.
They are training in preparation of stopping this malevolent AI, which is systematically rendering infertile all human species across the galaxy, driving humanity to extinction. The friendly and peaceful Nekomata eagerly support the mission, but demand payment in the form of Fitz’s genetically altered seed, in a desperate bid to counteract their own waning fertility.
Training complete, with Petchy and Teena at his side, Fitz must journey to the dying world of Ashera and confront the relentless machine. His task: plant a cyber-virus, codenamed Nematode, capable of dismantling the AI’s control network and retrieve the encrypted genetic database the AI used to engineer humanity’s eradication. What begins as a tactical mission quickly devolves into chaos as the team faces hostile drones, lethal environments, and a robot army.
Through sheer grit, Fitz infiltrates Ashera’s encrypted core. Teena, critically injured, ensures the virus spreads, but the cost is high. Fitz’s computer skills save the day as he hacks the AI operating system and enables the recovery of the crucial database. Fitz and Petch barely escape with their lives, and Teena’s fate remains uncertain as they collapse back on Earth.
The aftermath raises more questions than answers. Fitz is detained by Earth authorities. Under interrogation, Fitz clings to his cover story, feigning ignorance even as government agents probe deeper into his history. A mysterious operative ultimately comes to his aid, but Fitz is left adrift, haunted by the mission’s cost.
Returning home, Fitz struggles to reconcile his mundane earthly surroundings with the surreal adventure that redefined him. Other than an improved bank balance, he lacks proof that any of it actually happened. Provable or not, his memories of Nekomata, the fur-people, Ashera, and the sacrifice of his comrades remain vivid, and he has turned the tale into a science fiction ebook.
With newfound physical prowess and emotional depth, Fitz begins forging a new life, ever watchful for the next twist of fate, careful to keep a raincoat handy at all times, lest another portal traveler find themselves in desperate need of civilized camouflage.
Clockwork Apocalypse blends high-stakes action with introspection, weaving a tale of resilience, humor, and hope against the backdrop of interstellar extinction. With elements of speculative science fiction, rich world-building, and mature themes, this novel invites readers to question the nature of sacrifice, the bonds of found family, and the price of survival in a universe where heroes can be made—but never without cost.
